20-Yard Roll-Off Dumpster
The 20-yard roll-off is the workhorse of residential and light-commercial dumpster sizes — about 8 feet wide, 20 feet long, and 4 feet tall. It's the right pick when the 14-yard trailer isn't quite enough: most full roof tear-offs, multi-room remodels, and bigger estate cleanouts. Weight allowance is 2 tons (4,000 pounds) included, $85/ton overage. We're launching 20-yard roll-off as part of Phase 2 — get on the launch list and we'll text you when it's bookable in Huntsville, Madison, Hartselle, and Harvest.
Phase 2 — coming after launch
We're starting with the 14-yard dump trailer. Roll-off sizes (20, 30, 40-yard) come online in Phase 2. Get on the launch list and we'll text you the day they're bookable.
Get on the launch list →What fits
What you can put in a 20-yard roll-off.
- ✓A full residential roof tear-off (most single-story homes)
- ✓A multi-room remodel — kitchen plus a bath in one project
- ✓A larger garage/basement cleanout combined
- ✓Construction debris from a major addition
- ✓Mixed yard waste and bulky items
Not ideal for
When to choose a different size.
- ×Concrete or heavy aggregate (use the 30-yard with heavier weight allowance instead)
- ×Driveways with overhead obstructions (the roll-off truck needs vertical clearance)
- ×Driveways narrower than 9 feet (the can plus delivery clearance won't fit)
Real project examples
What other Huntsville customers used it for.
Roof tear-off — Madison
2,200 sq ft ranch home, asphalt shingles. Came in around 3,800 lbs — right at the limit.
Kitchen + master bath remodel — Hampton Cove
Cabinets, two vanities, tile floor, drywall, tub. 3,500 lbs.
Whole-attic cleanout — older Twickenham home
Decades of stored items, old furniture, insulation. 2,800 lbs.
FYI
Things worth knowing.
- !Roll-offs sit on metal rails — we place boards at the contact points on every delivery, which handles the vast majority of driveways. If yours is brand-new or freshly sealed, the 14-yard trailer is the safer pick.
- !The 20-yard is the size you'll see contractors using most often in Huntsville — versatile for both remodels and tear-offs.
- !Roof tear-off math: asphalt shingles weigh roughly 240-280 lbs per square (100 sq ft). 14-15 squares is about the limit before you go over 2 tons.
